Christine Anu, one of Australia’s finest female vocalists continues to impress with her new single, Come Home, set for release on Sunday 26th September. Come Home is the first solo single since the release of Christine’s 2003 album, 45 Degrees.
Come Home has all of Christine’s trademark uplifting qualities, reminiscent of her anthemic hits such as, ‘My Island Home’, ‘Sunshine On A Rainy Ray’ and ‘Party’. Her soaring vocals on Come Home are heartfelt and sincere. In the great tradition of songs about love and yearning, Christine Anu has struck a chord, which resonates in all who have felt love and longing.
‘I’m so excited to release ‘Come Home’! As soon as I heard this song, I knew I had to make it my own. I feel privileged to be singing one of Mathew Gerrard’s tracks, he is a brilliant songwriter and it’s an honour to team up with him. I love this song; it’s expressive and really captures that desperate feeling of despair when your loved one is far from home or far from your heart. I hope my fans enjoy this single, I certainly enjoyed recording it and can’t wait to perform it live’ said Christine.
Come Home was written by international hit maker, Matthew Gerrard who has written hits for Kelly Clarkson (Breakaway), Delta Goodrem (Lost With Out You & Be Strong, Jessica Simpson (Underneath) Hannah Montana (Best of Both Worlds and various others), High School Musical (We’re All in This Together, What Time Is It, All For One, I Don’t Dance, Start Of Something New, High School Musical) and many more.
The single was produced by Sydney based production team, DNA SONGS, which was founded by Anthony Egizii and David Musumeci. DNA SONGS have produced songs for many Australian recording artists, such as: Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Old Man River, Ricki Lee Coulter and Kate Miller-Heidke.
Christine sings from the soul of Australia with a deep connection to her indigenous heritage. Christine is arguably Australia’s most successful female Indigenous performer and one of Australia’s most popular recording artists, backed by an award-winning repertoire spanning across music, theatre, dance, film, television and children’s entertainment. Her illustrious career over two decades boasts of platinum albums, sell-out musicals, Hollywood blockbusters, and high-profiled collaborations with showbiz and musical luminaries such as Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge), Paul Kelly and David Atkins. Five solo albums later, Christine pulls out all the stops with the formation of Stylin Up Entertainment, a collective focused on developing and producing new media brands that are proudly Australian. This spawned a new genre of children’s entertainment branded as Chrissy’s Island Family, adding another ARIA nomination to her many awards she has received over her career.
‘Come Home’ will be available digitally from Sunday 26th September 2010
