JWM welcomes The Pawsome Doctor, A.K.A Dr Oisin Tracey to the family. @pawsomedoctor is an emergency and critical care veterinarian in Perth, Western Australia, and a volunteer wildlife vet, but you’re probably stuck back at his name. Pronounced Ush-een (it’s Irish), most people call him Ush.
From what started as a way of meeting new people outside of work when he moved to Australia Ush’s blog, the Pawsome Doctor has grown into a network of like-minded animal lovers with a growing social media following.
A graduate of the UCD Veterinary School in Dublin, Ireland, Ush fell into emergency and critical care but thrives on the variety and challenges it brings. He also volunteers as a wildlife vet after an encounter with an injured falcon sparked an interest in protecting wildlife. Having succeeded in his aim of meeting new people through the Pawsome Doctor, Ush uses his platform to advocate for the things he believes in – the very best care for all animals, #equality, inclusivity of all people in society and #mentalhealth. Ush has worked with a number of organisations including the City of Perth, Native Animal Rescue, #LGBT Ireland and the Western Australia Aids Council.
