The Better Hearing Australia (BHA) National Conference will be hosted by BHA Sydney with assistance from BHA Canberra & Central Coast from the 24th to 27th October 2013 at the Grace Hotel in the Sydney CBD. Former Prime Minister John Howard will speak and open the Conference on Saturday 26th October.
The Conference will commence at 1.30pm on the Thursday 24th with sessions focussing on our aural rehabilitation program going through until 12.30pm on Friday 25th. These sessions will include external guest speakers but in the main the sessions will be led by BHA trained aural rehabilitation teachers.
From 1.30 pm on Friday 25th October the sessions will concentrate on organisational activities such as grant writing, trends in volunteering and the need for public speaking skills in organisations like ours.
The premier day is on Saturday 26th October when a number of high profile speakers will present on aspects of hearing loss of interest to BHA members and kindred organisations.
The trade display will be open to the general public and delegates on Friday the 25th and Saturday 26th October.
There will be a Conference Dinner on the Saturday evening which will provide an opportunity to wind down after a busy day.
The final half day of the Conference will be the BHA AGM which will occupy the morning of Sunday 27th October with the Conference formally closing at 12.30pm.
At the Conference there will be opportunity to meet other volunteers who are committed to assisting the hearing impaired in their communities around Australia.
