Casey Donovan and Marcus Corowa celebrate a place and its people
The opening of Barangaroo Reserve and Cutaway completes the transformation of one of Sydney’s oldest industrial sites into a six-hectare harbour foreshore park and adaptable cultural space.
Barangaroo Reserve is located at the northern end of Sydney’s CBD. It is named after Cameragal woman Barangaroo, an influencing voice in the early days of colonial Sydney and the second wife of Bennelong. The area is rick and symbolic for Australians across all cultures.
The Welcome Celebrations will occur over 12 weekends throughout September, October and November and will tell the story of this historical site and its future possibilities. The Welcome Celebrations will begin each month with a Giant Picnic with entertainment, great food, art installations and much more.
