You know an artist is great when their music is covered for generations.
Bill Withers is one such artist. His soulful melodies including Ain’t No Sunshine and Lean On Me have stood the test of time and in 2015 Withers was inducted by Stevie Wonder into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In an intimate concert setting, singer-songwriter Marcus Corowa – a self-declared massive Bill Withers fan – will perform these songs and more from Withers’ amazing career, sharing stories from the life of this inspirational musician.
Marcus Corowa may be a relative newcomer to the professional music scene, but he’s turning heads amongst music fans with his catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics and silky smooth voice. Drawing on his Aboriginal and South Sea Islander Heritage Marcus brings to the stage a captivating combination of blues, jazz, and funk.
In a few short years Marcus has notched up a swag of awards and appearances, recently performing alongside Kate Miller-Heidke in Opera Australia’s highly acclaimed production The Rabbits. Marcus has just finished recording his second EP, which was produced by Damien Leith and will be released in November this year.
